两款型号面向不同用户群体:MobED基础版更适合研究用途,客户可自主开发定制应用,且未预装自主功能模块;

Choosing Your First Generative AI Use Cases
To get started with generative AI, first focus on areas that can improve human experiences with information.
The carmaker's AI robot adapts to diverse tasks with modular design, intuitive autonomy and advanced navigation for various environments.
Automaker Hyundai revealed its first ever AI-powered mobility robot, which is set to go on sale next year.
The Korean company unveiled the mobile eccentric droid (MobED) at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
An earlier concept version was showcased by Hyundai at CES in 2022, but now the production version of the platform will be made available in the first half of 2026 with two versions -- Basic and Pro -- to be offered.
As a video released by Hyundai shows, MobED is essentially a four-wheeled platform that can be adapted and utilized for a range of tasks such as making deliveries, carrying gear when mountaineering, filming and even acting as a golf caddy.
This is facilitated by a customizable modular design, which supports, for example, universal mounting rails and APIs.
The company believes MobED's ability to negotiate diverse environments could be a game changer for mobile robots. It cited its "eccentric control mechanism," which enables precise posture control, as a key factor in adapting to different terrains, suggesting that it removes the need for robots to be designed to perform set tasks in specific environments.
MobED's flexibility is complemented by automotive grade engineering plus what the company described as "intuitive autonomy," making it easy to use without any technical expertise.
The intuitive autonomy is delivered via AI-powered sensors, combining Lidar and cameras, to help avoid obstacles, plus predictive navigation algorithms that enable the robot to accurately maneuver in busy, confined spaces. There's also a wide touchscreen controller to assist human operators with the likes of designating locations.
As the names suggest, the two different versions are targeted at different users. MobED Basic is more suited to research and allows customers to build their own custom applications without pre-installed autonomy features.
ModED Pro, meanwhile, integrates all of the AI-powered tech for reliable autonomy, making it more suitable for immediate deployment, whether for industry or individual consumers.
Pricing has yet to be revealed for either model, but it is understood that Hyundai aims to sell 10,000 MobEDs during its first three years of production.
